In this video segment from Gold RushTony Beets is facing big challenges in his gold mining operation on Indian River … despite having invested five million dollars in new equipment and hiring additional crew, he made a rare error in judgment and failed to obtain a license for mining in the area.

Tony attempts to salvage his season by opening a new 25-acre wall cut that contains a significant amount of gold … however, heavy rains create a problem as the cut gets flooded, turning the material into a soupy mess that cannot be processed … Tony urgently needs to get dry pay to the plant to prevent a shutdown and losses.

Tony decides to put in a drain and bring excavators to the cut … they work to control the water flow and ensure a steady supply of dry pay to the plant … Tony relies on a culvert under an access road to the wash plant … but the rain threatens to wash it out, potentially rendering the plant inaccessible.
