In this video episode from the Crux Investor channel, Thomas Mumford, Vice President of Exploration for Scottie Resources, a junior gold mining exploration company based in British Columbia, discusses the company’s exploration plans and their recent experience at the PDAC conference … Mumford notes that at PDAC, they met with a lot of mid-tier mining companies who were interested in the grades and widths of the target they are exploring at Blueberry … Mumford also discusses the company’s immediate neighbors, including Newcrest, who have been focusing on exploration & prospecting around their mine rather than regional exploration.

Scottie Resources has been expanding their Blueberry contact zone and has doubled the strike length to 1550 meters and increased the depth by 75 percent, while identifying an additional 600 meters of strike length potential further to the south until they hit the Newcrest property boundary … the company has drilled for an extension at the mine, looking for the Ben vein, but the new model of the Blueberry Zone changed their perception of the potential at the mine … with the new model of the Blueberry Zone, they realized that they had hit an even longer intercept of a little bit higher grade gold, so they drilled a few more holes.

The company has raised six and a half million dollars and has a plan to drill 20,000 meters, focusing on expanding the Blueberry Zone … the company plans to put some drill holes into the D Zone up to the west of the hill and the Stockwork zone, with about 15% of the drill budget going to drilling the D Zone … they will focus 85% of their exploration on Blueberry, including that southern extension … they are going to fill in some big pockets in the data set that they have now.

When they extend further to the South this year, there’s a 300-meter section that they have no data for yet because it’s under the lake bed … so that’s an obvious target for them … there has been discussion about how deep the hole would be … while it would be nice to show that it goes down to 500 meters and the grade continues, they don’t need to drill a lot of holes there.
